Instructor Bios
Paula Crutchley

With greater than two decades of management, human resources, public relations, sales and marketing experience, Paula Crutchley has developed an expertise in identifying and resolving ineffective marketing strategies, recruitment and retention gaps and missed revenue opportunities. As an entrepreneur she also has an intimate understanding and compassion for the challenges that new business owners face and seeks to partner with them teaching them to make a better living doing what they love. She holds a masters degree in business from one of the top 25 universities in California. Paula has been featured in the Ventura Star Free Press and interviewed by 101.7 K-Lite Radio Station. Paula was born in England, and now resides in Ventura, California with her family where she is an active board member with Laubach Literacy of Ventura County, Inc.

 
Lisa Champagne-Minyard

lisa website pic 3For over 14 years, Lisa has been helping companies improve the performance of their people and their organizations as a whole.  She has provided training and coaching in the areas of customer service, management, leadership development, teambuilding and sales.  Her customers have included small to large businesses in a range of industries. Prior to her current field, she owned a small business in the garment industry and managed Japanese market sales for over a dozen American manufacturers of casual wear. Among her activities, Lisa has facilitated CEO Roundtables and Management Roundtable groups.  These are geared towards personal and organizational development and accountability.  Her unique skill set and unmatched enthusiasm makes her extremely valuable to all of her clients from, entry-level employees to CEO-level management.  Lisa has loved being an entrepreneur since the age of six when she opened her first lemonade stand and refrigerator-box storefront.  She is currently President of Achievement Resources in Southern California.

 
Lori Ann David

Lori Ann David has lived her personal and professional life/style as an original “Renaissance Woman”. Her rich and diverse pursuits of the past 30 years always add to her lectures and stories, laced with contagious energy and knowledge- she is an inspirational muse. Trained as a professional athlete, educated as a scientist, living as a farmer/ adventurer/explorer/healer, this teacher has valuable lessons to share. Her company, Landscape ArtDesign is a successful design/build firm of 23 years. This mother of teens is also an active advocate and coach for Women in Business, and maintains her life-long passion in aviation as a pilot and educator.

 
Valerie Ellis
Valerie Ellis is a consultant to small businesses, non-profit organizations and corporations, assisting them to achieve excellence in individual and organizational performance. Ms. Ellis is a trained facilitator, executive coach, nationally-certified trainer in Board development and she holds a Work/Life Certificate from Boston College. She has developed Training Manuals for self-employment, career development and community leadership. She has spoken across the country on microenterprise and leadership. Ms. Ellis is an adjunct professor at Santa Barbara City College, teaching business classes with an entrepreneurial focus. Ms. Ellis served on the national Board of Directors for the Association for Enterprise Opportunity and is the past Executive Director and Board President for Leadership Santa Barbara County. She holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Development. Ms. Ellis was WEV's Program Director from 1997-2003 and has been a WEV instructor for over 10 years.
 
Tea Silvestre

As the Principal and Owner of Social Good Consulting, Tea Silvestre brings strong expertise in strategic business and marketing planning to every project she works on. For nearly 20 years, Tea has honed her skills in various sectors including government, nonprofit, education and for profit small and microenterprise. Her specialties are marketing (for the "green" sector) and sustainable management practices. Her company assists conscious businesses and nonprofits in the creation and implementation of strategic business and marketing plans. Tea is the host of Planet Good Radio and also blogs regularly about the intersection of marketing, business and conscious evolution on her blog at Social Goodies. Tea teaches marketing and public relations at various venues including the Ventura College community education program. She earned a Bachelor's degree in English and Fine Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and studied Marketing at the University of California at Davis. 

 
Katie Walters

altKatie Walters believes that the most important and transformative path to personal growth involves building meaningful relationships.  This philosophy informs all aspects of Katie's life including her master's studies in educational leadership, her certificated leadership roles in the California Arts Project at UC Davis, as an instructor at Allan Hancock College, and her experience as a small business owner.  Katie uses collaboration and cooperation to help clients create dreams and reach goals.  She is honored to share the journey with others who are embracing possibilities.

 
Sergio Zepeda

Sergio Zepeda has a BA in communications and marketing from ITESM, Tecnologico de Monterrey. He is an experienced consultant, educator and expert in public relations, marketing and sales. Mr. Zepeda has taught the Spanish SET course for 5 years with WEV and has been an entrepreneur in both Mexico and the US.
