Vanessa has deep personal experience in business development, stemming from her work in her family business. At a young age Vanessa witnessed firsthand the challenges her immigrant father faced to start and grow his small business; language, technology, and access to capital all played significant barriers to his success. Her father’s determination and resiliency inspired her to pursue a role at WEV where she brings awareness to small business resources for minority and Spanish speaking business owners and helps bridge the information gap.
