Areum Ross

For Areum Ross, the journey to business ownership started several years before opening her business “My Best 9 to 5 Life”. Prior to launching her first company, Areum had to overcome her biggest challenge: her mindset. She shared, “I knew that business skills could be learned but I first needed to believe that I could learn.”

With full awareness of her needs as an aspiring business owner, Areum sought out resources. She found WEV in 2018 and joined the Explore Entrepreneurship class to assess her readiness and then enrolled in the Smart Entrepreneurial Training (SET) program to sharpen her skills. Areum said, “WEV is a great resource if you’re looking to start or scale your business. The Explore program helped me validate my business idea at that time and the SET program helped me really go through all  the details of my business and give me the confidence to launch it that year.” In 2021 she pivoted her business to what is now My Best 9 to 5 Life and she credits the tools and self- confidence she gained in WEV’s programs for making that transition an easy one.

Areum derives joy from what she does and delights in learning. She said, “I’m most excited about getting to know our subscribers and sending them happy mail each month…It’s fulfilling to do something that makes a positive impact on their workday.”
