Carmen Hernandez

Carmen’s family has always been her number one priority in life and in 2017 she decided to become a stay-at-home mom to care for her kids. The desire to spend more time with them and still maintain a flexible schedule is what inspired her to start her own business.  

In 2019 she enrolled in  WEV’s Explore program. She said “One of the biggest obstacles was not knowing where to start. Once I took the course with WEV and created a business plan, it helped me create a road map. The women there inspired me to continue and get started on planning for the future.” 

Carmen has enjoyed the flexibility that having her own business has given her and she hopes to continue to inspire others the way other fellow entrepreneurs have inspired her: “Starting my own business has not been easy. I still have a long way to go to get my business to where I want it to be, however I believe that small steps are better for me to ensure I am still taking care of my family and my personal needs. I feel that in some small ways I have inspired other women to begin the journey of business ownership. I love sharing my experience and my knowledge to help them take that small step into this great journey.”
