Lupe Lane

Lupe Lane’s entrepreneurial spirit was first ignited in her teenage years when she helped her grandfather run his own business in Ventura. “I worked for him during my teen years and learned how much I loved his connection to the community.” 

In September 2011, Lupe opened Little Bird Consignment with her grandfather’s spirit of community engagement in mind. 

Lupe shares that “The biggest obstacle for me was having a support system of people who believed in me. It’s hard to take the leap of faith. WEV helped me discover people just like me and we are still close friends and root each other on.” 

Because of the Thomas Fire and the COVID-19 pandemic Lupe has had to pivot. She says that WEV has taught her that “growing and adapting is the key to a stable business.” Lupe has even encouraged other community members to join WEV! 

Lupe graduated from WEV’s SET (Smart Entrepreneurial Training) program and said, “From the highest of highs, to the lowest of lows, I am happy that I took the plunge and opened my business. I am happy to be a part of the community. I am happy that WEV was there to help me put my thoughts and aspirations on paper and help it become a reality.” 

Little Bird celebrated their 10-year anniversary and is looking forward to many more.
