Sue Jacoby

With 35 years of experience in child education, Sue Jacoby was determined to create an encouraging space where kids of all ages can learn and explore fitness, movement, and nutrition.  

In 2018, Sue launched Action Academy with a mobile trailer as an after-school enrichment program. As her business expanded, she dreamed of securing a brick-and-mortar location. 

Through WEV’s Funding Team, Sue received the funding she needed to work on her new location. 

Enter the COVID-19 pandemic and the endless challenges it presented to our small business owners. Sue’s drive allowed her to keep pushing when faced with the government shutdown and various permitting obstacles, leading her to officially open Action Academy’s permanent location in Moorpark, CA in August of 2021. 

Sue shares, “I am actually without words (a rarity) of the immense appreciation and gratitude for WEV’s time, wisdom and support during this entire process.” 

Now, the Action Academy boasts 16 trainers, a full staff, and offers all the classes and activities a child could dream of!
